DELOITTE DAY OF SERVICE

For Impact Day, Deloitte Consulting’s annual day to recognize its year-round commitment to corporate citizenship, the firm facilitated a professional development workshop at Children of Promise, NYC. Participants included former Children of Promise, NYC program participants and members of Restoration, a local community-based organization that empowers Central Brooklyn residents to prosper and grow.

The day included a workshops on resume building, computer literacy, a skills assessment exercise, and a panel led by Deloitte volunteers and Neha Gupta, founder of Empower Orphans - an international nonprofit that helps young people break out of poverty,

Deloitte’s workshop provided instrumental support to young adults as they build skills and grow professionally. All participants left the workshop feeling energized, inspired, and enriched by the expertise of the Deloitte team!

YPC | 5K RUN + BRUNCH

Thank you to the Young Professionals Council, Youth Empowerment Program from Rowan University, and all of the friends who came out to the 5K fundraiser in Prospect Park and joined us for a fun, post-run brunch! Your personal investment in bettering the lives of young people with incarcerated loved ones means everything to us!

Friends traveled as far as South Jersey to take part in the fundraiser and over $7,710 was raised to benefit CPNYC's mission of empowering children impacted by parental incarceration! A special shout out to Stephanie Cozzi from CPNYC’s Women’s Philanthropy Group for being our World Changer Top Fundraiser!

After the run, a celebratory brunch was held at the CPNYC facility and was open to all 5K participants and CPNYC's incredible community of supporters.

CBS NEW YORK | 12-Year-Old Brooklyn Boy Wants to Help Others Beat the Odds

CBS New York reports on CPNYC participant and budding philanthropist Legasii Fox.

Congratulations to Children of Promise, NYC participant, Legasii Fox, who has been selected to serve on the Kidbox Kids Board of Directors. As a social good company, Kidbox delivers one item of clothing to a child in need for every full box of clothing ordered on their website. While speaking with CBS NY, Legasii shares the impact that CPNYC has on his life as well as his future goals in serving on the Kidbox Kids Board of Directors.

YOUNG PROFESSIONALS COUNCIL | Summer Happy Hour

The YPC Summer Happy Hour was an overwhelming success.

Many thanks to those who supported the Summer Happy Hour at Ketch Brewhouse. With over one hundred supporters in attendance, the event was an overwhelming success! Our guests had the opportunity to mingle on a private rooftop overlooking the Financial District while learning more about the mission and services of the organization. The evening included a raffle and silent auction, featuring prizes generously donated by Saks Fifth Avenue, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Little Frog, Madewell and Away Luggage.

The Summer Happy Hour was presented by CPNYC's Young Professionals Council, a group of change makers dedicated to embracing and empowering children of incarcerated parents.

DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS | Day of Service

The New York Department of Corrections visited CPNYC's Bed-Stuy facility for an educational and active day of service.

Thank you to the New York City Department of Corrections for participating in a Day of Service at Children of Promise, NYC. Employees spent one-on-one time with students reading books, playing basketball, completing art projects and sharing boxing techniques. We appreciate your efforts in providing our participants with tools that will allow them to grow and flourish.

OppenheimerFunds visits Children of Promise, NYC for a fun-filled, rewarding day of service.

Our sincerest thanks to OppenheimerFunds for choosing to partner with Children of Promise, NYC for a day of service. A group of employees from across the company spent the morning and afternoon applying fresh coats of paint in our playground area and beautifying the side garden with cheerful plants. We appreciate your energy and effort in creating a welcoming environment for the children and families we serve. 

BROOKLYN NETS | NBA Star Helps Kids of Incarcerated Parents

Star basketball player Sean Kilpatrick visits CPNYC for an inspirational day.

This April, NBA star Sean Kilpatrick joined Starbucks employees, Sharon Content and additional volunteers in beautifying the Children of Promise, NYC (CPNYC) headquarters. Between an afternoon of painting, gardening and spring cleaning, the Brooklyn Nets player met with CPNYC participants and encouraged them to "keep following your dreams."
