Giving is Not Canceled

When I started Children of Promise 10 years ago, I knew our children would experience hardship, but didn’t know we’d need to serve them during a global crisis.

During the pandemic, they have missed proms, birthdays and times with their friends and family. There have been no Friday night football or basketball games. Many of them don’t know what their classrooms look like. They have deeply missed the warmth of a hug from an educator; those moments have been replaced with digital images or videos through a screen.

Socialization is one of the most important parts of the teenage years—and now, those experiences are gone.

But we’ve stepped up.

We expanded our hours, we shifted our programs to include technology supports, and we increased the mental health services we provide children of incarcerated parents.

And we won’t stop there. Giving is not canceled, and so we are asking that you where open your hearts and donate to organizations that are making a difference in the world. This year has been full of challenges, but my work leading CPNYC continues.
This year, your gifts will go directly to our programs, including our teen program called Youth Action that elevates, empowers and expands to impact for teenagers in their critical years. Together, we can create new memories. Give today by visitingCPNYC.org.
