THE COMMITMENT
As a mentor, you will inspire a young person and invest in the future of your community. Children of Promise, NYC provides training, guidance, and support to ensure that you and your mentee have a valuable experience.
Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer or mentor with Children of Promise, NYC (CPNYC). Volunteers and mentors are an essential pillar of our wraparound approach and vital to the success of our scholars and families. We are currently in a transition period as we work to fill the Volunteer and Mentor Manager position with a candidate who reflects our mission and vision. A member of our team will follow up with you shortly, and we are grateful for your patience, flexibility, and commitment to our community.

Project DREAM
Founded in 2009, Project DREAM (Directing Realities through Exposure, Access, & Mentoring) provides one-to-one mentoring to youth at Children of Promise, NYC. Mentors takes an interest in a child’s aspirations, providing them with exposure to new experiences, opportunities for career exploration, and a fresh perspective on their futures.

Requirements
Be at least 21 years of age
Reside in the New York City/New Jersey area
Complete the background check process: please review and complete this packet
Complete the training process
Commit to one year with your mentee
Establish monthly goals with your mentee
Spend at least four hours in-person or virtually a month with your mentee
Document your time with your mentee using the provided form
Adhere to all policies and procedures
