NEWS 12 BROOKLYN | Mentor Program Helps Kids Learn About Bed-Stuy Community
Honoring the deep cultural and historic roots of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, a group of five young participants from Project DREAM transformed the gym to a scale model of the neighborhood on Saturday and lead a public tour on five points of interest. News 12 Brooklyn joined us for the event, which marked the culminating celebration of The Bedford-Stuyvesant Treasure Hunt, a 16-week program exposing CPNYC participants to the historical and cultural significance of the community.

Kids and teens from around the Bedford-Stuyvesant area got the chance to learn about historical and cultural sites around their neighborhood through a special program. At the nonprofit Children of Promise's gym on Saturday, young people ages 9 through 15 gathered to present their findings from months of research, as proud parents and mentors looked on.
